house

Of course while my family was here we worked on the house.... I say we like I had a major part of the work, however, my dad did quite a bit of the majority! THANKS DAD! Among the improvements are blinds and curtains for the living room along with a large framed piece of art. Paint on the stairwell trim and walls, cleaned carpet on the stairs and upstairs hallway, paint on the upstairs hallway and trim, AND a complete transformation of the guest bathroom upstairs.

This will be mainly a photo update... there are some more pictures of our Maryland blue crab experience! Also a better family photo of the McNeillies

Bentley.....

Well, Bentley has been with us for about a week and a half and he is like having multiple puppies in one. He is so crazy!! One second he is so sweet and cuddly, the next he tries to bite you. He will be playing with his toys (he has a lot to choose from) then all of a sudden he doesn't want to play with ANY of his toys and only wants to chew things he is not allowed to chew. Keeping up with him is like a full time job BUT it is so fun having him around! He definitely keeps us on our toes (or at least protecting them).

My family came to visit us for a few days, so Bentley wasn't on a very strict schedule. I think it is because of this that he has had so many accidents inside. I mean we know he is a puppy and "boys will be boys" but he has had a LOT! This week will be a lot more rigid for him, I think even in just one day he has gotten better. Only two accidents inside so far!

Here are some pictures of him....
Don't be fooled... he is the devil in disguise

he likes to sleep on his back... heavy sleeper too

family

My Dearest Copper,

It has almost been 3 months since you have been gone, and we have missed you every day. But something great has happened today! We have a new member of the family, his name is Bentley and although you both look so similar, you are so different!

You were so scared and anxious the whole car ride home when we picked you up and Bentley slept the whole way (except for the small part when he pottied on Cassie)
Cassie is my friend who came with me to pick up Bentley because Gary is away on a business trip.

You loved your toys from the start, Bentley doesn't seem to care for them as much!

You were so ready to explore your new home when you got here, but Bentley slept for the first two hours, haha, mostly between the couch and the side table or underneath his bed.

But you are also the same in ways,

neither of you seem to like to sleep ON your bed, both lay behind me in the kitchen when I am cleaning the dishes, you are both black, you are related, and both are the cutest and best things I have ever seen!

Copper, your dad is Bentley's Granddad (Copper's dad is the father of Bentley's mom)

I have been so excited to finally let out our "big surprise" and I know you would have loved to play with Bentley, but don't worry we have passed down your toys for his enjoyment!

Copper, you know we will never forget you, or replace you, but we are glad to welcome Bentley as the fourth member of the McNeillie family!

until next time...

Sunday, March 13

So, I'm turning out to be kinda bad at this blogging thing... I haven't posted in forever! I could make an excuse about how busy I have been and that I didn't have time, and I was exhausted by the end of the day, but the truth of the matter is that I have felt rather uninspired. While I have been thinking of you, dear followers, I haven't had anything worth while to say.

In my blogging absence, our backyard has flooded ( don't worry the flood waters have receded), Gary has been recruited for more week long trips, I have had a really bad day at work (followed by a couple good ones), we've come one step closer to finishing the kitchen cabinets, it's now daylight savings time = summer, I've hated my job and I've loved my job, and made plans for my family to visit.

So the positives and the negatives are about equal at this point. Pretty much the last few weeks have been excitement neutral, however, the next few weeks are going to be great! It is getting warmer, I can go run outside, my family is coming for a visit.... and one more thing.....

..... I promise to post again soon, until next time.....
